Surveyors, inspectors and site supervisors carry half their office around with them, and this vest is built to hold all of it. It’s basically a mobile workstation with reflective tape. There’s a dedicated pocket for a tablet inside, a radio pocket and a clear ID holder on the chest, and a hidden pouch across the back that zips open from either side, roomy enough for plans, permits or the clipboard that never seems to fit anywhere else.

The rest of the pocket lineup is just as thoughtful. A two-tier, four-division pencil pocket keeps pens, markers and a scale handy on the right chest, full-length pockets run down both sides on the outside, and another full-length pocket sits on the inside. The tablet pocket has a load-bearing strap, so the weight sits on the vest instead of pulling it out of shape. Mic tabs on both sides of the chest let you clip a radio mic wherever it’s most comfortable, though the size small has a tab on the left only. Grommets on the lapels and side pockets let you hang keys, badges or a carabiner.

All that storage would mean nothing if the vest didn’t hold up. It’s made from Kishigo’s Ultra-Cool polyester mesh, which lets air move through on hot days, and the front zipper is reinforced with heavy-duty webbing. A padded neck keeps the weight of a loaded vest from digging into your shoulders over a long day. The 2-inch high-performance reflective striping sits on a wider band of contrasting dark trim, and the vest meets ANSI 107 Type R, Class 2 standards for roadway visibility. Sizes run from S to 5XL.
